There are a few instances of violence that might bother a sensitive kid, but I would recommend it to most without reservation. Any description of the book would be too much of a spoiler for anyone but I will say that this would be a wonderful choice for an older boy and a fine option for someone who had enjoyed Kenneth Oppel's current books about Young Frankenstein. This story is sort of a mixture of several other popular pieces of literature, written for the more modern reader. I've no objections on my end.
